Pitt Research: NSF for NIH Investigators
If you are considering diversifying your funding portfolio beyond NIH-awarded projects the NSF may be a viable funder for your work. It is essential to understand some key differences between theses agencies and how they structure programs to fund academic researchers. we will look at key differences between the NSF and NIH including how the role of program officers differs at these agencies and framing biomedical and health related science in a basic way for NSF. Presenters share helpful resources to strategically approach a developing proposal responsive to NSF's solicitations.
Pitt Research partnered with McAllister & Quinn, a DC-based consulting firm with expertise in the US federal R&D funding landscape, to deliver this workshop series designed for faculty interested in learning more about the NSF. The series is structured as two, 90 minute interactive presentations with opportunities to develop concepts for early stage feedback.

The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is a Foundation-wide activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) invites Assistant Professors to participate in a workshop series designed for faculty interested in learning more about the NSF CAREER program. The series is structured as four, one-hour interactive discussions intended to enhance proposal development:
