How can human cadaveric tissue be procured at Pitt or UPMC?
The Office for Oversight of Anatomic Specimens (OOAS) requires that all human cadaveric tissue being brought into or used at a Pitt or UPMC facility be procured through OOAS on behalf of the investigator or course director.
Vendors are not permitted to bring human cadaveric tissue to a Pitt or UPMC facility, nor are they permitted to order tissue to be sent to a Pitt or UPMC facility.
