New Resource - Sponsor Policies for No-Cost Extensions

Extending an externally funded project's period of performance without requesting additional funds is referred to as a No-Cost Extension (NCE). Many sponsors allow NCEs, although processes and requirements vary. In all cases, it is important for investigators to ensure that enough funds are available in the requested extension to support the remaining work. An NCE should always include a plan for completing work on a project and not be requested solely for spending unused project funds.

The No-Cost Extension Policies Table lists NCE policies and procedures for common sponsors, which are subject to change. The table can also be found on the OSP website.
