Sponsors that issue federal contracts may request that investigators provide cost quotes, statements of work, salary information, or other pricing and budgetary details in early project discussions.
It is important that these types of information be reviewed and submitted to the sponsor by the Federal Contract Services Team in the Office of Sponsored Programs. This is because these submissions may be viewed by the sponsor as a formal proposal that results in an award issued to the University without negotiation of terms, which may be difficult for the University to accept.
