What is an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA)?

An Other Transaction Agreement/Authority (OTA) is a legal contract with the federal government that is not a grant, cooperative agreement, or a federal contract. The federal government uses OTAs to streamline research and development, prototype development, and other projects with nonprofit research institutions.

Within the Office of Sponsored Programs, OTAs are processed by the Federal Contract Services Team. You can send any questions about OTA proposals or awards to fedcon@pitt.edu.
