Extensions and Amendments in MyRA

Have you received a MyRA notice stating that your agreement “is nearing expiration?”  If Yes, and if you want to extend it, you can simply request an amendment in MyRA by following the steps below:

1. Log in to MyRA.

2. Open the record for the specific agreement you wish to extend.

3. Select “Create Amendment” from the left hand toolbar under “MY CURRENT ACTIONS”.

4. Complete the brief cover page submission form with the requested information, including how long you wish the extension period to be.

5. Select “Continue”.

6. Note any other changes that need to be made, and edit anything else that may have changed from the original submission.

7. On the “Basic Information” page, upload the draft of the extension agreement or ask Pitt to draft it.

8. On the “Contracting Party” page, answer the COI question.

9. “Save” your changes.

10. “Submit” the request.

Remember, selecting “Finish” does not submit the request through to the Office of Sponsored Programs, it simply saves the request. The PI or PI proxy must select “Submit” after selecting “Finish.”

Notes:

You can only amend a MyRA agreement that is in an Active state, and you can only have one amendment in process per initial agreement at any point in time. Please be aware that you do not necessarily need to have received a MyRA Notification in order to request an amendment to an agreement.

The process outlined above is the same for all MyRA amendment requests (MTA, DUA, NDA).
