Including Foreign Collaborations in NIH Progress Reports

Recently, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) has been receiving more inquiries from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) related to foreign collaborations and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR). NIH investigators who include foreign collaborations as part of their original applications should also include the foreign collaborations in their RPPRs, including any foreign-related expenses.

Failure to provide updates on foreign involvement and/or disconnects between the original application and the RPPR may delay the NIH in processing and issuing awards for continued funding.

See the NIH RPPR instruction guide and NIH Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to Foreign Components for more information on this topic.
