On August 3, 2022, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announced that proposal application due dates falling on or between September 22, 2022 and September 30, 2022 will move to Monday, October 3, 2022. The due date adjustment is to accommodate a planned Grants.gov outage as services are migrated to the Cloud.
As a result of this shift in due date, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) expects a higher than usual volume of NIH proposals ahead of the October 5 R01 deadline. Pitt investigators and research administrators are encouraged to prepare and submit applications ahead of the planned outage.
