iThenticate is a plagiarism-detection software, marketed by Turnitin that is designed to be used by researchers to screen written material for originality. iThenticate is used by federal government agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) to check for instances of plagiarism in submitted proposals.
How it Works
The service allows researchers to easily upload documents, manuscripts, research, and other professional works into iThenticate. The iThenticate software compares the uploaded files against >7052 billion web pages and 74 million content items from leading academic publications. When the iThenticate comparison process is complete, a “similarity score” is generated.
